Why Take This Course?
Most of us have a pretty good idea of how you can post your profile and search job listings on LinkedIn. But that, friends, is just scratching the proverbial surface. For those of us job hunting right now, or anticipating a search down the road, you can absolutely use LinkedIn more strategically to improve your visibility, cement your personal brand, and increase your likelihood of getting a shot at an interview. If you’d like to learn these strategies, then you’ll want to join us for this free panel discussion.
Course Description:
Join Seattle Women of Design & UX and SVC for a panel discussion on creating your own LinkedIn strategy for job searching and career development. Career strategist and coach Amy Santee will moderate a panel of four professionals in UX who have used LinkedIn to build their reputations, expand their networks, land new jobs, and contribute to the UX discipline.
The panel will share strategies, experiences, and advice for intentional community engagement, developing a quality network, sharing valuable content, and building professional credibility to help you make the most of the platform and achieve the next big step in your career.

Amy Santee (she/her)
Amy is a Career Strategist and Coach for UX professionals who want to design their careers with intention and bring their good to the world. As a personal growth and career development nerd, she has partnered with hundreds of individuals to implement a practice of self-research, self-advocacy, and strategy, so they have the tools to navigate the professional world with courage and confidence.
Prior to coaching, Amy built a career as a UX researcher for product development and strategy in industries like healthcare, automotive, retail, consumer tech, ecommerce, and civic design. She has given several talks and workshops on LinkedIn strategy, which has played a major role in both her UX and coaching career. In her free time, Amy weight training, birding, gardening, and exploring the Pacific Northwest. You can find her on LinkedIn and at amysantee.com.
Panelists:
Angel Newball (she/her)
Angel is an Austin native with a background in Anthropology. She is a UX Specialist for eClinicalWorks, the largest cloud-based electronic health record software in the US. In order to give back to her community, Angel often spends time volunteering for Latinitas as a mentor to young girls, and is the Board Secretary for UXPA Austin. You can connect with her on Instagram @ux.angel, or on Linkedin, which she successfully leveraged for her entry into UX in 2021.
Emily DiLeo, PhD, MLIS (she/her)
Emily is a former ethnomusicologist and archivist who has worked for Thomson Reuters and SAP. Emily made the pivot from academia to UX research in 2021, during which her use of LinkedIn helped her land her first UX job. Her professional activities include giving talks at UX conferences, writing about knowledge management on industry blogs and Medium, and guesting on podcasts. Emily is an active member of the ResearchOps community, playing a key role in the creation of the Minimum Viable Taxonomy Level 1.
Emilie Mazurek (she/her)
Emilie is a Senior UX Designer with a background in biochemistry and hospitality. After graduating from a bootcamp, Emilie landed a full-time remote role in less than 3 months, and was promoted to senior designer in just over a year–largely through the help of building an online brand and posting on LinkedIn. When she's not working, you can find her arguing with her parrot Cheeto, giving unsolicited hot chocolate reviews, or finding any excuse possible to book another vacation.
Laura Costantino (they/them)
Laura is a senior content designer and strategist at Google. For the past ten years, they have worked at the intersection of UX, content, and marketing for some of the world's largest tech companies, including Yahoo, Amazon, Meta, and now Google. Laura developed a passion for storytelling early on and received a MA in Cinema Studies in San Francisco, where they worked as a curator for a range of film festivals and cultural institutions around the Bay Area. Outside of work, Laura is committed to mentoring people transitioning into UX and tech, advocating for content, and sharing advice on LinkedIn. They currently live in NYC, were born in Southern Italy, and speak both English and Italian fluently.
